A few good questions.
And the details.
Tuck works by text. Find answers about moments, chapters, your book, price, and privacy.
Getting started
What is Tuck?
Tuck is a private family memory keeper that works by text. Send a note, a photo, or an MMS voice note. Tuck keeps your original words and prepares illustrated weekly chapters.
Is Tuck an app?
No. Tuck works through a phone number and message thread. Some account tasks use private web pages. You do not need to install an app.
What can I send to Tuck?
Send text, photos, and MMS voice notes. If you want to keep a video moment, send a screenshot and a short note about what happened.
Can I save a memory without a child quote or photo?
Yes. A birthday, a walk home, or a detail you noticed is enough. A photo or a child quote is not required. Tuck keeps your note as a parent note. It does not present it as something your child said.
Can I send older memories?
Yes. You never need to upload your history. Tuck starts with the week you’re in. Text an old favorite whenever it surfaces. No exact date is needed. Older memories can show up in a later Sunday email.
How does Tuck date an older memory?
You do not need a full camera-roll upload or an event name. Tuck uses dates you give it and usable photo dates. You can correct a date later.
What if I do not know the date?
You do not need an exact date to save a memory. If the event date is unknown or not certain, Tuck says so. The date you added it stays separate from when it happened.
Can I review a larger group of older photos?
After a larger group of older photos finishes processing, Tuck may offer a private link to review what was saved. The review is optional. It shows which photos were stored and which memories are ready. You do not have to review each ordinary memory you send.
Chapters and the book
What does Tuck send back?
On Sunday, Tuck emails a preview of the memories that are ready, including older memories. An email can be made entirely from older additions. Some uploads take longer to be ready. The email has a private link to see more. Original words stay unchanged, and chapters collect in your private family history.
Does every memory need a new illustration?
No. A week with one saved memory can have one illustration. Adding more memories can update the chapter while keeping its existing illustration. Illustrations for older weeks may take time. The email preview and the book can include different selections.
When is my book included?
Your year includes one 80-page book in the book you choose: Softcover, Hardcover, or Layflat. Tuck makes it from your year, you approve it before printing, and shipping is included.
Do I see the book before it prints?
Yes. Tuck sends you the finished book to look through first, with your words kept word for word. Approve it as is, or leave notes on any page in your own words. We show you what we’ll change, then send you the updated pages, usually within a day. Nothing prints until you say yes.
How many changes can I ask for?
Two rounds of notes, with as many notes as you like in each round. You can always go back to an earlier version of a page. Fixing a wrong name, date, or who said what never uses up a round. We never reword your child’s words.
Can I add photos or moments when my book is ready?
Yes, before you send your first notes. Text them to Tuck, or ask Tuck for a link to upload full-size photos. Anything that arrives after your first notes goes into your next book.
What if my book arrives damaged?
Tell us within 10 days of delivery and we’ll replace it. That covers damage in shipping and printing faults. We print exactly the version you approve, so check names and spelling before you say yes.
Which Family Book should I choose?
If you’re unsure, choose Layflat. Its pages open completely flat, so one photo can run across both pages. Softcover has a flexible matte cover at the lowest price. Hardcover has traditional binding. Every book is 80 pages with shipping included, and you approve it before it prints. You can move up to a better book before yours prints and pay only the difference.
What counts as a moment?
A photo with a few words, a sentence about breakfast, a voice note, or something they said, kept word for word. A screenshot from a video works too. The thing they said in the backseat counts. That’s the page you can’t retake. Birthday photos and first words count too.
Can I search my family memories?
Yes. Your plan includes a private searchable family archive. You can search the memories your family has sent.
Can other family members contribute?
Yes. Trusted family members can send moments without an app. The family owner controls the final book approval and order.
How many contributors can join one family line?
One family line includes up to 4 contributors. They can send text, photos, and MMS voice notes. Contact Tuck if your family needs a larger group.
Privacy and family
Which photos and memories can Tuck see?
Only the moments you send. Tuck does not ask for access to your photo library or scan it. AI writes the Sunday emails, illustrates moments, and replies in the thread, always from what you chose to send, with your original words kept word for word. Your family’s content is private by default and never used to train AI.
Is Tuck public or social?
No. Tuck is private by default. It is not a public feed, social network, or content-sharing app.
Who can see the private family archive?
Family owners and admins can view and manage the full archive. Contributors can add memories, but their role does not give them access to the family dashboard or full archive. People who receive a recap by email can see that recap, but they do not get dashboard access or permission to text memories to Tuck.
Can grandparents get our Sunday chapter?
Yes. Text Tuck their email and say who they are. Tuck asks them to confirm first, then sends them the same Sunday chapter you get, with that week’s photos. You can add or remove them on your family page, and they can unsubscribe from any chapter.
Can a partner or grandparent text moments in too?
Yes. Invite them from your family page by phone or email. They join themselves and text the same number, and what they send goes into your week. Contributors can add moments, but they don’t see your full archive.
Can Tuck staff or service providers access family content?
Service providers process information to run Tuck. Authorized Tuck or provider staff may access family information when needed for support, service operation or repair, safety or security work, or legal duties. SMS and MMS are not end-to-end encrypted.
How does Tuck use AI?
Tuck uses AI to transcribe, summarize, classify, search, illustrate, and reply to family memories. It keeps the original message, note, quote, media, or transcript separate from summaries, tags, and illustrations. Tuck does not use family content to train AI models. AI providers may keep data when needed to run a feature, prevent abuse, or meet legal duties.
What information about my children does Tuck collect?
Tuck is for parents, guardians, and trusted adult caregivers. Children should not use Tuck or send content to it. Adults choose what to share about their children. Tuck may collect names, ages, or birthdays that a family provides.
Can I export or delete family data?
Yes. Family owners and admins can export family data or delete the family account from the Family page after they sign in. An export includes current family records and available original attachments. Some limited records may remain for security, legal, billing, audit, or messaging-compliance reasons. Backup copies can take up to 35 days to clear. Read the Privacy Policy for details.
Price and plan
What does Tuck cost?
Every plan is a full year of Tuck with one 80-page landscape book, printed and shipped. The Softcover plan is CA$179 a year, the Hardcover plan is CA$239, and the Layflat Hardcover plan is CA$349. Each includes weekly story chapters and a private searchable archive. You pay $0 today, and your year is billed after 14 days. You approve the pages before Tuck prints the book.
Why does Tuck cost what it does?
A year of Tuck pays for catching the small moments of a year that goes too fast: what they said at breakfast, kept exactly, before it is gone. The Family Book at the end is the proof you can hold. On its own, a comparable 80-page layflat typically costs CA$329 at U.S. retailers, and you still have to design it.
How does “Pay $0 today” work?
You add a card and pay nothing today. For 14 days, text your moments and read your first Sunday emails. We email you a reminder on day 11. Keep going and your plan’s yearly price is charged on day 14. Cancel before then and you pay nothing.
Can I change my book later?
Yes. You can move up to a better book any time before your book prints. You pay only the difference for that year.
What if I forget to send something?
Tuck can check in with a short text based on your family’s memories. Choose how often, or only send when you want to. There is no need to catch up.
Do I have to start in January?
No. Start when you like. Your service year starts when you join, and older memories are welcome.
What if I cancel?
Cancel in your first 14 days and you pay nothing. After that, canceling stops your next renewal, and Tuck keeps working until the end of the year you paid for. Earned books do not expire, and anything already printed is yours to keep.
About Tuck
Is Tuck available now?
Yes. Tuck works by text in Canada and the United States. See the plan and price details.
Can I give a friend their first month?
Active paying families can get a private link in their Tuck account. A new family gets one free month after they confirm their phone number. No card is needed. They can choose to pay for the remaining 11 months of their first year. Their free month counts toward that year. A printed book requires a confirmed payment. Your friend’s account stays private. If the current offer shows a sender reward, you may earn C$50 or US$50 in your Tuck billing currency after your friend’s first confirmed paid continuation and a 30-day hold. Refunded or disputed payments do not qualify. The credit applies to future Tuck invoices; it is not cash.
Who makes Tuck?
Tuck began as Nicole’s idea. She has made family photo books for 10 years and loves making them. With two young children, she wanted to keep more family moments and do something different. She also sends weekly updates to her family, who now look forward to them. Tuck is operated by 2618991 Ontario Inc., an Ontario corporation. Read Nicole’s story.
Give Tuck
How is a gift different from joining for my own family?
Joining for your own family is an annual subscription: pay $0 today, add a card, and your chosen plan is billed after 14 days unless you cancel. It renews yearly unless you cancel. A gift is paid once by the giver; the recipient needs no card, their 12 months start when they activate, and the gift does not renew.
Can I give Tuck as a gift?
Yes. Give a prepaid year, including the Family Book you choose, with shipping. Their year starts when they activate. They need no card, and neither of you is charged again. Their Sunday email comes to you too, unless they take you off. See Give Tuck.
Does the person who gives Tuck get our Sunday chapter?
Yes. When you start a gift, the person who gave it goes on your Sunday list. Once they confirm their email, they get the same Sunday chapter you do, with that week’s photos. You can remove them any time on your family page.
Can I give Tuck to more than one family?
Yes. Each gift is one year for one family, with its own Family Book. Buy one for each family.
When does the gift email arrive?
As soon as payment is confirmed. To give it on a particular day, buy it that day.
Can I start Tuck as a surprise for my partner?
Yes. Sign up with your own number and text what the kids say. Tell Tuck to check in only when you ask. Tuck still texts you when each Sunday chapter is ready, so keep your phone close on Sundays. On the day, invite them by email from your family page. They join as an admin, and you stay the account owner.
When does a gift start, and does it renew?
The year starts when the recipient verifies their phone and activates the gift. They need no card. The gift does not renew, and neither person is charged again. Continuing after the gift needs a separate purchase.
Can an existing Tuck family use a gift?
Contact tuck@tuckmoments.com before purchase. We check their current plan and earned books before applying the gift. A gift never silently replaces a paid plan.
Can the buyer see the recipient’s memories?
Only the Sunday chapter. The buyer gets it each week once they confirm their email, unless the family removes them. A gift gives no other access to private family data, and the family chooses who can contribute.
What are the gift refund terms?
A full refund is available before activation or within 14 days after activation. Refunds go to the original payment method. Anything already printed stays with the family. An unused gift does not expire. See the gift terms.
